EPBC Referral Decision
Recently, an Environment Protection Biodiversity Act (EPBC Act) referral was made to the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). The department decided that the project is a controlled action as it may have significant impacts on listed threatened species and communities and listed migratory species. As a result, the project will require assessment under the EPBC Act before it can proceed. This assessment will be conducted under the bilateral agreement with the Victorian government through the EES process and these matters will be considered in developing the EES scoping requirements.
