Wind Prospect respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land that the project is located on, being the Eastern Maar and Gunditjmara peoples, and wishes to pay respect to Elders, both past and present. We acknowledge the ongoing connection between the Traditional Owners with the land and waters.

The proposed Hexham Wind Farm is located between Hexham, Caramut and Ellerslie in south-west Victoria. The area is predominantly cleared land used for cattle and sheep farming, although some of the properties are also used for dairy farming and cropping.

Wind Prospect submitted a referral to the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and in April 2022, the Minister for Planning determined that the project must undergo an Environment Effects Statement (EES) process.

The output of the EES process is the Minister’s assessment of potential environmental, economic and social impacts of the proposed project. Decision makers then consider the Minister’s assessment alongside planning controls and other statutory requirements when deciding to approve the project.
